2 Tim 1:9.   Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, Eph 2:8-9.   For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
